Valiant Cross Academy is holding its biggest fundraiser of the year, a breakfast set for Thursday morning, 7:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
MONTGOMERY, Ala. -, at Prevail Union, 39 Dexter Avenue.
The 5th annual Breakfast with the Scholars is changing formats this year to a “block party” style event, but the purpose of supporting the school remains the same. Valiant Cross Academy is an all-male school and leadership academy led by brothers Anthony and Frederick Brock, both educators who are committed to creating a school that addresses some of the biggest issues facing young African American males. The young men at Valiant Cross Academy learn honor, integrity, discipline, respect, and love, and they learn they can overcome tough obstacles and become anything they want in life.
The school was gifted the historic Methodist Church on Dexter Avenue for its middle school campus. However, the education building’s HVAC system needs to be replaced because it cannot be repaired. So, this breakfast this morning is working to raise the money necessary to replace that system before the new academic year begins in August.
More than 50 corporate sponsors have already supported this project. The school welcomes everyone to help this cause by stopping by Prevail Union for Breakfast with the Scholars or by making a donation online
