Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr are reportedly interested in making Virgil van Dijk the most expensive defender in world football
Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has previously expressed his excitement for Arne Slot's first season as Reds head coach amid links to Saudi Pro League giants Al Nassr.
Van Dijk, who will turn 33 next month, has entered the final 12 months of his contract at Anfield and will be available for a free transfer next summer. Prior to the tournament, he was at the Formula One for the Monaco Grand Prix and speaking to Sky Sports, the 32-year-old was asked if he thought the transition from Jurgen Klopp to Arne Slot would be 'pain-free'. He said: "I hope so. Obviously I have full trust in the club and all the decisions going forward.
Van Dijk doubled down on the claim that he made weeks earlier in light of their 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on the final day. The Liverpool captain cut an emotional figure as the club bid farewell to Klopp after nine successful years at the helm but the Dutchman did make his feelings on the future clear.
