Born in 1945, Van Morrison 's musical journey began early, immersed in the blues, country, and gospel collection of his shipyard worker father.
Inspired by musical icons like Hank Williams, Jimmie Rodgers, Muddy Waters, Mahalia Jackson, and Leadbelly, he was a traveling musician at the tender age of 15, singing, playing guitar and saxophone in various bands before forming the influential group Them in 1964.Them achieved significant chart success with instant classics such as the widely covered 'Gloria' and 'Here Comes the Night.' Van Morrison's unparalleled songwriting and musicality continue to evolve, evident in his new material and reinterpretations of older favorites. This is showcased in his recent album, 'New Arrangements And Duets,' which features fifteen personally selected tracks from his extensive repertoire. A career-spanning setlist, traversing from 'I'll Be Your Lover Too,' originally featured on the 1970s album 'His Band And The Street Choir,' to 'Ain't Gonna Moan No More,' from 2018's 'The Prophet Speaks,' promises a musical voyage spanning decades of his illustrious career.
