The bench is said to have had its legs bent with it needing repaired as Councillor Jamie McGuire called the act a 'disgrace'.
The bench, which sits beside the town’s war memorial, was first reported to be damaged by Renfrew Rotary on its Facebook page. The non-profit organisation said it was “sad and angry” to report of the vandalism.
Now Renfrew North and Braehead representative Jamie McGuire insists the community is right to be outraged at the actions of those responsible.
