Former Countdown star Carol Vorderman, 63, told fans last month that she would not be continuing with her radio show - now, Vanessa Feltz has been confirmed as her replacement
Broadcaster Vanessa Feltz is taking over Carol Vorderman 's Sunday slot on LBC permanently. Last month, former Countdown star Vorderman, 63, announced she would be stepping down from her radio show due to "burnout" from working seven days a week.
In a post on Instagram, she wrote: “Hello, I’ve got some news to share with you. After working 7-day weeks for as long as I can remember, I finally burned out just over 2 weeks ago and I ended up overnight in hospital. Luckily, after many scans and checks, we know that I don’t have any underlying health issues whatsoever.”
Carol added that she was not happy to leave the radio station. “I’m fed up that I’ve had to make the decision, as the show’s been really lively and a total joy, with so many new callers from around the country and growing numbers of listeners.” Vanessa, 62, who joined LBC in May, currently hosts a Saturday afternoon show where she shares her opinions, analysis, and in-depth discussions on topics that matter to the British public.
He added: "She is a genuine, straight-talking and incisive broadcaster who has proved incredibly popular with LBC listeners and knows what really matters to them, so we are excited to announce her new Sunday show."
