VENEZUELA’S opposition leader Juan Guaido has urged the European Union to harden its financial sanctions against the government of Nicolas Maduro after he expelled Germany’s ambassador.
Mr Guaido has denounced president Nicolas Maduro’s re-election last year as a “sham,” while the Socialist leader says he is the victim of a US-led “economic war”. And yesterday he said: “I hope that Europe reacts sharply to this serious threat against an ambassador. Above all, they should tighten financial sanctions against the regime.
