Beloved BAFTA-winning actress Brenda Blethyn has hinted at embarking on a new venture after completing her final scenes as DCI Stanhope in the acclaimed ITV drama Vera, missing an event in the North East as a result.
Filming for the farewell season of Vera kicked off at the end of May, with the award-winning actress and her fellow cast members shooting across various Northumbrian locations including Blyth, Gateshead, Hartlepool, South Shields, and Ashington, with some of the final takes in the quaint village of Glanton.
Sharing regret over having to miss the beloved local fete, Brenda expressed on X: "What lovely weather today for the fete @The Washington Riding Centre for the Disabled. so disappointed my work has prevented me from attending.
