Vera star Ibinabo Jack dropped some major hints about a potential ITV spin-off even before the bombshell announcement that the beloved drama would be drawing to a close. The actress, who played Jac Williams in the police show, has expressed her hope for a prequel series.
Bookmakers are already betting on a Vera spin-off being a sure thing, especially considering the show's consistently strong performance over its 13-year run. Ibinabo, who left her role as DC Williams of the Northumberland and City police squad last year, has been vocal about the idea of a spin-off. Ibinabo replied: "Unless they did a prequel? Like early days? " Her suggestion was received with enthusiasm by Jon's BBC co-host Sally Nugent, who enthused: "A prequel is a fabulous idea! That's what we need to know, more of Vera's backstory. It's a genius idea! ".
