UPDATE: Vermont Police arrested a 24-year-old man involved in a shootout with police following an extensive three-day manhunt.

Vermont Police arrested a man on Sunday, three days after an extensive manhunt following a shootout .

24-year-old Henry Lovell was arrested on Sunday in Hyde Park, Vermont, after authorities were tipped on his whereabouts by someone who saw a person matching Lovell's physical description walking on the side of the road.The initial incident began around 8:45 p.m. Thursday when a Morristown police officer responded to a reported kidnapping and disturbance at the intersection of Upper Main and Pleasant streets, according to Vermont State Police.

When the officer arrived, he was met with gunfire, state police said. The officer recognized the shooter, from previous interactions and returned fire. During the shootout, the Morristown officer sustained minor injuries and was treated and released from nearby Copley Hospital. Lovell is facing multiple charges including assault and attempted murder. He is being held without bail and is expected to be arraigned on Monday.

The officer who was shot was identified as Brian Tomlinson. He was struck by pellets from Lovell's gun and only sustained minor injuries.
