The BBC Radio 2 host was left mortified after making embarrassing mistake live on air as he was forced to quickly apologise.
Vernon Kay was left red in the face after he was forced to apologise to listeners after a 'slip of the tongue'.
The radio host then discussed everything Stockport has produced, including his wife Tess Daly. “And as I’m reading this they’re burying a time capsule with pupils from St Joseph’s Primary School containing everything that’s great about Greater Manchester which will be opened in 100 years in 2124," he continued.
Radio 2 listeners took to X - formerly Twitter - where they quipped about Vernon's mistake as one said: "Brilliant, slip of the tongue.” The dad-of-two was in the middle of saying: "When The Sun Goes Down reached number one in January..." before the malfunction happened.
