The US House of Representatives is “very dysfunctional” due to suggestions from the Republican Party’s extreme right-wing faction, according to Cypress College Professor of Political Science Peter Mathews.
He said this is causing a “headache” for Speaker Kevin McCarthy, who is trying to bring the party together to negotiate with the Democrats.
“We need to come together for the national interest, the public interest and not the few specials interests that are pushing Congress … in the wrong direction,” he told Sky News Australia.
