Ms Sheppard also encouraged people to double check if they are on their retailer's best offer, or are eligible for additional relief. The Commission CEO said people should look into what they were paying each year, insisting “half an hour will save you money – it’s worth doing”. “You might remember with the events in Ukraine, we saw a real spike in the wholesale electricity prices. So that flowed through to Victorian retail prices in the last couple of years,” she said.
