A judge told Andrew Leatherbarrow that he had shown 'enormous good sense' in changing his pleas to guilty
A vicar has admitted engaging in perverted online chats with undercover police officers posing as teenage girls. Andrew Leatherbarrow, of Saints Close in Old Swan , had been due to go on trial at Liverpool Crown Court today, Tuesday, charged with child sex offences. But the 56-year-old instead pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted sexual communications with a child.
Leatherbarrow, who appeared in the dock with short greying hair and wearing a black suit over a white shirt and blue tie, will now be sentenced on October 14. He was released on conditional bail until this date and handed an interim notification requirement. Judge Simon Medland KC told him: 'You have had the enormous good sense to consider with your counsel the evidence in this case. In light of that, you have changed your pleas to guilty.
