This year's event has a record number of charity partners
A record number of charity partners have been confirmed for the 2024 Robin Hood Half Marathon. Goldline Events, who organise the yearly event, have shared that this year's race has an expanded charity collaboration with 18 partners.
This year's event will take place on Sunday, September 29, and runners are now being invited to run for one of the organisations, such as Cancer Research UK, the headline charity for the 43rd annual event. Other charity partners for this year include the Children's Bereavement Centre, Citizens Advice Nottingham & District, Emmanual House, Footprints, Framework, The Friary, Himmah and Imara.
Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance, Maggies, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Refugee Forum, Nottingham Hospitals Charity, Nottingham Trent University, Vicky McClure's Our Dementia Choir, Rainbows, Safe Families and When You Wish Upon A Star are also partners this year. There have been a record number of entries so far for the race, with runners of all ages and abilities preparing to put on their charity vests for the race.
Race Director Judith Manson said: "With an increased number and variety of charity partners, I am incredibly proud of our collaborative efforts to make a difference in our community. Once again, we are so privileged to be joining with such inspirational causes and individuals as we move towards race day.
"The stories and triumphs we get to be a part of never fail to move us and we are delighted that at a time when it is being reported that donations are down generally that we are helping to buck that trend and we hope for a record-breaking year of fundraising in 2024."
