Former Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison gets emotional while discussing her new documentary, 'Vicky Pattison: My Deepfake Sex Tape,' which tackles the disturbing issue of deepfake pornography. Pattison intentionally leaks a deepfaked sex tape for the documentary to highlight the severity of the problem and its impact on women.
Vicky Pattison became visibly emotional while appearing on ITV 's Lorraine on Tuesday, January 28th, to discuss the reasons behind her decision to 'leak' her own deepfaked sex tape . The former Geordie Shore star appeared on the daytime show to talk with host Lorraine Kelly about her new documentary, which will air on Channel 4 . During the interview, Vicky openly shared her emotions about why she felt compelled to take this drastic step.
Viewers will witness Vicky working alongside a team of actors to create a deepfake pornographic clip featuring her image, which she will then intentionally leak in her documentary, Vicky Pattison: My Deepfake Sex Tape.Lorraine acknowledged Vicky's emotional state throughout the interview, stating, 'You’re very emotional all the way through and we can see how much it affects you and how it affects the people you talk to. It’s not just women in the public eye that it’s happened to but it does happen sadly to ordinary mothers that are going back to their lives and someone takes their image and does that to them.' Vicky responded, 'I was lucky enough to meet four incredible survivors of deepfake abuse and not only how they’ve put their lives back together but are also campaigning for change and that is nothing sort of inspirational.' Lorraine further noted that the documentary has already caused considerable controversy, with people expressing judgments about Vicky even before watching it. Vicky replied, 'Let me just say, I completely understand that this has been a divisive way to go about sharing the information about fake AI and to try and spread awareness. We've been loud and we've been deliberate and I know that it has ruffled some feathers. Anybody who feels any type of way about it, I completely understand the feelings, that they're valid and I'm not trying to trivialise them.' Vicky went on to explain that the number of deepfake videos appearing online has more than doubled since 2022, stating, 'There's over 300 of these new apps now - within a month of one of them launching, 600,000 nice normal women had their pictures deepfaked.' Addressing the documentary's inclusion of a deepfaked porn video featuring Vicky, Lorraine commented, 'The content, obviously we can't show it. In the documentary, it's blurred - but we are not just talking about somebody you see in the movies, people having sex in films, that happens a lot. This is really hardcore. It is ghastly.'Vicky swiftly defended her documentary, emphasizing the severity of the issue: 'It's, listen, the issue of consent, Lorraine, is not nothing new and you know that, and this, the issue of violence against women is nothing new, but this is the latest iteration in that wave of abuse and violence against women, and it's terrifying. They are not only taking away a woman’s consent, a woman’s right - They are not only taking away a woman's consent, a woman's right to choose - what they're creating in the most case is very degrading, it's very violent, and it's terrifying.'Vicky's voice trembled as she discussed the implications of deepfake porn for future generations. She heartbreakingly admitted, 'The bit that always gets me is that I got married last year - Eric and I would love to try and start for a family. What world are we bringing little girls up in?' she said, her voice filled with emotion. 'What are we teaching young lads? This problem, it is affecting women as we've seen the technology doesn't even register a man's body, but it is affecting girls as well. It's affecting children.'The Lorraine show airs weekdays from 9 am on ITV and ITVX. Vicky Pattison: My Deepfake Sex Tape will be available to watch and stream on Channel 4 at 10 pm on Tuesday, January 28th
