After organising Princess Anne's 40th at Gatscombe Park and Elton John's milestone birthday celebrations, the organisers were no strangers to throwing a memorable event that would go down in showbiz history. Fresh apples were pierced to release their aroma and had been weaved into the ivy arrangement through the bannister. Meanwhile a truly magical leafy walkway had been constructed from the library to the huge marquee for the reception.The couple said their vows in a small folly chapel with the vows officiated by the Bishop of Cork, Right Reverend Colton, after David and Victoria were granted a special licence to marry in Ireland by the Archbishop of Dublin.
Victoria described how she 'wanted to look quite virginal' on her wedding day and looked mesmerising in a champagne gown made of the finest Italian silk by American designer Vera Wang. The dress consisted of a fitted, strapless bodice with a petticoat underneath her A-line skirt made up of 50 metres of tulle that was stiffened with horse hair.
Victoria wore a striking dress which consisted of a slim-fitting purple satin fishtail gown which a strapless bodice. Accompanying their three-course meal, an 18-piece string orchestra played Spice Girls hits including Say You'll Be There, Mama, Cheek to Cheek and Night And Day.Victoria's father Tony Adams started the speeches and joked: "Obviously it is very difficult for me to find anything that hasn't already been written by the News Of The World, The Sun, The Daily Mirror."
