The Sporting Clube de Portugal striker is linked with a move to the Premier League, just a year after arriving in Lisbon from Coventry City. His unstoppable form has seen him on the radar of the biggest European teams including Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
The report claims the Swede has his 'heart set' on a move to the Premier League and a reunion with Amorim, who convinced him to join Sporting last year. It's said he believes reuniting with the Portuguese manager would be 'the best move' for his career even if it means snubbing a move to Arsenal and Chelsea - the two other clubs who are linked with him.
In addition, former Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood says Gyokeres is the ideal striker to provide 'firepower' to the Reds' attack. "Viktor Gyokeres, for me, is a must," he told Ladbrokes. "They’ve always had firepower in that area, but at the moment, when I look at it, Joshua Zirkzee is not a striker. He’s not a striker. So that leaves them with one: Rasmus Hojlund. Gyokeres has got a big buyout clause, I think, so they’re not going to be able to get him without getting some names out of the door, but he would massively improve that team, I’ve no doubt about that."
