'They were terrified of him'
Kieran Larbey, of Penwortham, raped two of his victims. Then attempted to suffocate the third with a pillow.
The 22-year-old's offences were described as 'abhorrent' as he was jailed for 19 years at Preston Crown Court on Tuesday . He had pleaded guilty at a previous hearing.Larbey was sentenced for three offences of rape, two offences of suffocation, and charges of controlling and coercive behaviour, sexual assault, assault causing actual bodily harm and criminal damage.
Detective Inspector Denise Fardella of Lancashire Police’s South Rape and Serious Sexual Offences Unit, said: “These were abhorrent offences committed by Larbey and I welcome the prison sentence imposed.She added: “Lancashire Police are committed to protecting women and girls, and we work tirelessly to bring offenders of sexual and violent crimes to justice. We urge anyone who have been the victim of offences of this nature, to come forward and report them. You will be listened to and supported.
Larbey, of Mark Close, Penwortham, had pleaded guilty to the offences at a previous hearing in January. In addition to the prison sentence, an extended licence period of four years was put in place. Larbey was also placed on the sex offenders’ register for life.
