The village residents' initiative has garnered significant support, including that of local MP Joe Morris, who introduced a bill to Parliament in January urging the energy secretary to conduct a thorough review of the existing support mechanisms for community energy projects.David Still, a prominent member of the Humshaugh Net Zero group, expressed the villagers' strong desire to utilize their land for energy production. He stated that the solar farm will be capable of generating roughly half of the electricity currently consumed by the village. The profits derived from selling this electricity will be channeled into a dedicated community fund, which will then be used to provide grants to residents for adopting low-carbon technologies such as solar panels and electric vehicle chargers. In January, Morris highlighted the village group's commendable efforts during a Ten Minute Rule Bill in Parliament.
