One local says he has reported more than 500 potholes in one month
Fuming drivers have criticised the number of huge potholes in a Nottinghamshire village, with residents joking the terrible roads 'don't need speed limits'. Villagers in Jacksdale, on the Nottinghamshire-Derbyshire border, have been left frustrated by a lack of action over the village's hole-ridden roads.
The retired builder labelled the pothole reporting system on Nottinghamshire County Council’s website “a farce”. “ aren’t doing their jobs properly”, said Mr Green. Local Judith Butlin, 62, explained how her son suffered a tire blow-out because of a pothole a few years ago and that he was fortunate to escape uninjured. She said: “These potholes could cause a serious accident, especially on Selston Road. It is terrible down there. There’s one right on a T-junction that’s very dangerous."He tried to claim off the council but they wanted nothing to do with it. Fortunately, he didn’t get any injuries but it was the cost of a new tire and new rim.
