Virgil van Dijk admits Liverpool face a step into the unknown under new head coach Arne Slot - but is confident the Reds can continue their upward trajectory under the Dutchman.

"Obviously I have full trust in the club and all the decisions going forward. It's exciting as well.
Asked if Liverpool can carry on from their good campaign, Van Dijk added: "100%, but success is not guaranteed. That's pretty obvious. We are going to work our socks off in order to make it happen and we have a good coach coming in, a good backroom staff.Van Dijk was talking to Sky Sports at the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday, and also discussed the forthcoming European Championships in Germany where he will skipper Holland in their group alongside France, Poland and Austria.
