Nottingham Forest secured Premier League survival with two games to spare under head coach Vitor Pereira
Vitor Pereira says Nottingham Forest can start looking to the future after securing another season of Premier League football. The Reds have secured survival with two games to spare and can start planning for their fifth successive year in the top flight.
They still have two final matches to see out the campaign, with a trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United to come on Sunday , but preparations can also begin for 2026/27. Pereira believes Forest have strong foundations in place. But he has also suggestions lessons should be learned from a chaotic season that saw him become the club’s fourth head coach.

“I believe we can do it. “This is a fantastic club with the organisation and with the supporters. I think we can build something good for the future. We have the conditions to build something good for the future.
“It is important to have good decisions, to look at the season. Every time we learn. Every day I learn with my life and my career. We can improve.
This is the moment to look at the season, to understand what we should keep doing and the things we cannot do again. This is the way to start to give a step to the next level.
“We start to make plans for next season, and that’s all. But we need to focus on the last two games. After, we will decide what we have to decide. ” The Reds drew 1-1 with Newcastle United last weekend, with safety confirmed later in the day as a result of West Ham United’s defeat to Arsenal.
Pereira has overseen a significant turnaround in fortunes since his appointment in February.
“We did well,” he said of the club staying up. “We worked a lot to achieve our priority, and our priority from the beginning was to be safe as soon as possible. “We are not in the battle with two games to spare. This battle takes a lot of energy.
