BACOLOD CITY: Victorias Milling Company (VMC) said it will begin accepting sugarcanes for milling starting at 7 a.m. on Wednesday.
'We will stand by our commitment to join all sugar industry stakeholders to open the milling season on September 1,' VMC president Linley Retirado said.Retirado gave this assurance after a fire incident consumed the clinic building and the instrumentation office and partially damaged the warehouse inside the VMC compound on Sunday evening.
Retirado's pronouncement was also relayed by the VMC management to Sugar Regulatory Administration chief Pablo Luis Azcona, who visited the VMC compound Monday morning to assess the situation.'VMC is very thankful for the immediate response of fire personnel and the help and support of Victorias City Mayor Javi Benitez and Third District Rep. Kiko Benitez and other local government units that came to our aid,' Retirado said.
