The Huskers' No. 1-ranked 2023 signing class is making an early impact. Its goals could take the program to new heights.
Reilly, from Sioux Falls, S.D., said she never listed Nebraska among her favorites until she received a phone call and scholarship offer from Cook on June 15, 2021, the first day allowed by the NCAA for colleges to contact rising juniors in her class.Reilly is the on-court glue for Nebraska. She’s unflappable, according to teammates, and. Reilly regularly executes flawless sets that more experienced players can’t duplicate.
Vada’s best friend and college teammate, Warde Manuel, rose to become Michigan’s athletic director. Manuel is like an uncle to Harper. She and her sister, Kendall, a senior on the Michigan volleyball team, wear Vada’s No. 27 on the court. Cook is not shy to compare Murray and Larson, the latter regarded as perhaps the best female volleyball player in American history.
From Brighton, Colo., Jackson initially flew under the radar as a recruit. But when the Huskers got involved on a tip from former Nebraska star Christina Hanson, who helped coach Jackson’s club team, her profile jumped.She dreamed of attending Texas. But like Reilly, that June 15 phone call with Cook changed Jackson’s outlook on Nebraska.
