MANILA -- Reigning NCAA champion College of St. Benilde overcame a shaky start before taking a four-set win over Letran in their first game of the Shakey’s Super League Collegiate Pre-Season Championship Season 2.

Aside from overcoming a loss in the opening set, St. Benilde also had to recover from a deficit in the fourth set before sealing the win in an hour and 59 minutes. They now have a 1-0 record in Pool C. Four players scored double-digits for the Lady Blazers, led by Gayle Pascual with 14 points on 12 attacks. Jade Gentapa and Michelle Gamit each had 13 points, while Zamantha Nolasco added 11 on four blocks for the two-time reigning NCAA champions.
