Last week, storms in Logan County reduced buildings to rubble and lives were lost, but even through the destruction and grief, it's clear that hope still lives here.
As neighbors lean on each other to get the community back on its feet, countless volunteers are pouring in to help families recover both physically and emotionally.Chaplain Greg Fleitz was one of many there helping, and he told ABC 6 his ministry's goal is to provide comfort where it was needed most.
"A lot of what we do is just being a ministry of presence, being there with them so that they can talk to someone, pray with someone, or share what's going on in their lives," Fleitz said. "Our purpose here is to share God's love for everyone, and so when we come here, we want to take and be a part of this community's attempt and process of grieving, trying to get through what is going on here, what they are seeing, and what they are feeling.
Not only will the chaplains be walking around the community, they will have a center located across from the Municipal Building in Russells Point.
