The former footballer played for various teams across 10 seasons in the National Football League. In 2018, he shocked fans by retiring from the sport halfway through a match.
Former NFL star Vontae Davis has died at the age of 35, police have said. Officers were called to the football player's Florida mansion on Monday morning after a housekeeper discovered his body. Details about how Davis died were not released, but preliminary information suggests that 'foul play is not involved'. Property records from Broward County indicate the nearly $3m home is owned by Adaline Davis, who is believed to be his grandmother, Sky News' US partner NBC reported.
In a statement at the time, he said: 'This isn't how I pictured retiring from the NFL. But today, on the field, reality hit me hard and fast. 'I shouldn't be out there anymore... I meant no disrespect to my teammates or coaches.
