We want to know your favourite #MyMarathon story
Ahead of the Belfast City Half Marathon on Sunday, September 17 we asked you to submit your #MyMarathon stories and we were inundated with hundreds of inspiring stories of why many of you took part in Belfast City Half Marathon.
Heather's story: This is my first ever half marathon and I couldn't be more honoured to be running in the anniversary with everyone. I've never been fit. I've never been able to jog much less run more than 100m. But in January 2023, I made the decision to just run for as long as I could. Running has become not just a physical release but also a mental one. Each time I've pushed myself past limits I never even dreamed of, I was pushing myself to fight.
Sharon's story: My 11-year-old daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumour in March of this year. We have all been through an awful ordeal, I decided I needed to do something positive and put my energy into fundraising. I'm running the Belfast Half Marathon for Brain Tumour Research for my darling daughter and for everyone else affected by brain tumours. I have raised over £3000 and will hopefully be more after the run.
