Citing “a new chapter of public service,” Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte on Saturday, Dec. 24, called on Filipinos to contribute to nation-building in an aim “to build a stronger nation” and uplift the lives of everyone.

In her Christmas message, she said that Filipinos “have many reasons to be grateful this Christmas and even more to look forward to in 2023” as she urged them to use this “perfect time” to reflect on the Christmas message of love, forgiveness, and restoration.

“I urge you to join us in transitioning to a new chapter of public service with the utmost integrity, accountability, and efficiency,” she said. “Together, let us build innovative platforms that will cultivate better approaches to learning, wider access to public services, and resilient food and healthcare system,” the official added.

Taking note of the Filipinos’ solidarity and the spirit of bayanihan, Duterte expressed hope that the people could channel these “in forwarding important advocacies that uplift the lives of Filipinos and promote viable initiatives that build our communities toward further growth.” “Together, let us joyfully commemorate this season as we continue to build a stronger nation and welcome a new period of lasting and inclusive development facilitated by an agile government, an upbeat and optimistic business sector, and empowered Filipinos,” she said.
