Susubukan ng Gilas Pilipinas na maisakatuparan ito sa oras na umarangkada ang FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament na idaraos sa Riga, Latvia sa Hulyo. “I think for us to think any success at this point, we need to get to the crossover, we need to either beat Latvia or Georgia to feel like we’ve had success,” ani Cone.
Magkakasama sa Group A ang Pilipinas, Latvia at Georgia habang nasa Group B naman ang Brazil, Cameroon at Montenegro.
