The walk takes only 10 minutes, and the going is fairly easy
. On the way, you pass the remains of an old bobbin mill which had at one time the largest overshot wheel in the country. Immediately beyond the mill, the river narrows to form The Howk.Faulds Brow lies just to the North of Caldbeck and is a pleasant short walk out from the village. It can be combined with The Howk walk to make it a little longer and so you can take in the views.The pub sits right in the middle of the village so is hard to miss.
You'll then need to follow this road up until you meet the junction with the Keswick to Carlisle fell road. Reaching the junction, cross and take the minor road to Whelpo. Follow it all the way down to the bridge over Whelpo Beck.
