David Warner has revealed he plans on finishing his Test career in Sydney next year, saying he wishes to call time after Australia hosts Pakistan in January.
Warner outlined his thinking as he spoke to media in Beckenham ahead of next week's World Test Championship final against India at The Oval. The 36-year-old from New South Wales drew a line through the two home Tests against the West Indies that will follow the series against Pakistan, but reiterated his desire to keep playing white-ball cricket until the 2024 T20 World Cup in the West Indies and USA."I've always said the World Cup would probably be my final game.
"I probably owe it to myself and my family ... I can score runs here and continue to play back in Australia..."If I can get through this and make the Pakistan series I will definitely finish up then."David Warner has revealed he's hoping to retire from Test cricket after next year's SCG Test against Pakistan.
