The warning comes following recent reports of supporters celebrating after winning games

Nottingham Forest fans have been warned not to jump into the River Trent for a celebratory swim ahead of their crunch match with Chelsea. The message, issued by Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, comes following recent reports of supporters jumping into open water after winning games.

"We ask that you don't jump into open water," the authority said in a post on X. "You never know what is beneath the surface, and entering open water after drinking alcohol can severely impair your movements." The warning was issued at 1.15pm on Saturday, May 11, hours before Forest host Chelsea at the City Ground, which lies on the bank of the River Trent. The match, which kicks off at 5.30pm, is the penultimate game of the Premier League season for the Reds.Should relegation rivals Luton and Burnley's fixtures go their way, Forest could confirm their survival and another year in England's top flight with at least a point against the Blues.
