Those drinking before their flights should remember that all it takes is one too many and you could ruin your holiday, because if you are deemed unfit to fly then you may be denied boarding .
If you disrupt a flight you could face up to two years in prison, or a fine of up to £5,000 if you delay a flight from taking off. Passengers could also face a £80,000 diversion fee if they cause a mid-air incident, or be banned from flying altogether if they cause a flight to be cancelled. On Tuesday, March 19, East Midlands Airport police encountered a 22-year-old man who had overindulged before he arrived at the airport. The individual was given multiple warnings regarding their behaviour but was later arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly. The man was later interviewed by officers and dealt with by way of community resolution. Officers are warning people to fly responsibly or face the consequences. In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, East Midlands Airport police, which is part of Leicestershire Police, wrote: "Yesterday our team encountered an adult male who had overindulged prior to their arrival at @EMA_Airport
