A warning has been issued to parents after a man 'lunged at a schoolgirl' three miles away from an alleged attempted abduction of an 11-year-old in Irlam. The incident, reported on Bowfell Road, involved a year seven student who was walking home from Flixton Girls School. The man approached her, stared, and then lunged towards her, scaring her. This follows a separate incident where an 11-year-old girl was allegedly grabbed by an unknown man and woman on Silver Street in Irlam. Police are continuing to investigate both incidents.

Greater Manchester Police are continuing to hunt the two suspects after the young girl, walking to school, was approached and 'grabbed' on Silver Street, close to the junction of Cutnook Lane. It is believed the pair had been driving in the area in a car and a van, and that they quickly made off from the scene.
"The man has been described as average height, dark hair, dark eyes, dark skin, possibly Asian. We believe there was also an incident in Irlam yesterday morning whereby a young girl was approached and grabbed by strangers.
