Thousands of spectators will attend
Fans travelling to Peter Kay's two sold-out Nottingham shows over the weekend have been warned to expect heavy traffic, and to arrive in good time, as latecomers will not be permitted. The much-loved Bolton comedian performs his comeback tour at the Motorpoint Arena on Friday and Saturday .
A statement on the arena website states: “This is a very busy, sold-out show starting at 8pm prompt. Please arrive in good time as latecomers will not be permitted – be mindful of heavy traffic coming into the city for this exciting event!”It added: “Photography & filming is strictly prohibited at this event. Please don’t spoil the show for others attending future performances.”
A statement from the city council read: “Peter Kay @nottinghamarena Friday & Saturday nights will be a popular one! Our traffic management teams have put plans in place to keep Nottingham moving as well as possible as large numbers of cars try to leave car parks at the same time. Demand for tickets was huge when they went on sale in November. Officials at the Arena, in Bolero Square, had said the demand had been 'phenomenal' as they warned not everyone trying to book tickets for the two dates would be successful.
