A number of cases have already been discovered

Brits on holiday in Spain are being warned after a rare and deadly bacteria was found in a dish. Health chiefs say cases of botulism are connected with packaged potato omelettes from supermarkets.

Two confirmed cases in Galicia and Asturias are aged 49 and 50. Both were hospitalised and required treatment in an intensive care unit. Probable patients have been detected in Valencia, Madrid, and Andalusia. They are aged 27, 43 and 49. Initial symptoms may include double or blurred vision, drooping eyelids, slurred speech, difficulty swallowing or breathing, a thick-feeling tongue, dry mouth, and muscle weakness.
