Amid speculation that Jeremy Clarkson has been 'axed' from Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, Warwick Davies has become the favourite to replace him in the iconic chair.
The head of ITV, Carlyn McCall, stressed that his views werewhile the network’s boss Kevin Lygo added: ‘I would say what he writes in a newspaper column… We have no control over what he says.’
When asked if the broadcaster would keep Mr Clarkson as the face of WWTBAM?, Mr Lygo responded: ‘Yes, at the moment we are.’ Nonetheless, there’s continued speculation that his time on the quiz show could be cut short, with several names put forward as favourites to step into his shoes shout that happen.According to bookmaker William Hill, Harry Potter star Mr Davis is one of the frontrunners, with odds of 8/1, having previously hosted ITV game shows Celebrity Squares and Tenable.
Only Connect host Victoria Coren Mitchell has the same odds, as does comedian and TV presenter Susan Calman, and former Great British Bake Off presenter Sandi Toksvig.Good Morning Britain’s Ben Shephard has odds of 9/1, while former Pointless host Richard Osman is coming in with odds of 10/1. Four individuals currently have odds of 12/1 – Pointless’ Alexander Armstong, beloved TV personality Rylan Clark, former Countdown host Anne Robinson and The Chase’s Bradley Walsh – while 8 Out of 10 Cats star Jimmy Carr has odds of 14/1.
