An open letter sent to the House of Commons has been signed by around 28,000
An open letter has been sent to the House of Commons Leader, urging for compensation for women affected by state pension changes.
The Waspi campaign's letter states "the Commons must urgently have the opportunity to debate and vote" on compensation. Complaints from as far back as 1995 over the Department for Work and Pensions communication about state pension reforms were investigated by the ombudsman.A report from the investigation issued last week said: “We think this will provide the quickest route to remedy for those who have suffered injustice because of DWP’s maladministration.
Conservative MP and co-chairman of the State Pension Inequality for Women All-Party Parliamentary Group Peter Aldous said: “These millions of women worked, cared for families, and supported communities all their lives. They deserve the dignity of fast compensation.”
