“I have always voted in the past and strongly believe in women having the vote, but for the first time ever, I won’t be voting.”She only discovered at the age of 58 that she would not receive her state pension until the age of 66, instead of 60 like she had anticipated. “I always try to vote because women died to give me the vote and endured terrible things,” she said. “I want to vote as I feel it is my duty to do so.
“It seems the Labour Party wants to penalise pensioners as they want to grab back some money to put into other things,” she said. “So if they don’t come through for Waspi women, things might be worse than ever if they hit pensioners hard. “I feel very let down by Labour and am really disappointed there was not even a mention of Waspi women in their manifesto,” she said. “Their silence is deafening.”
