Both Beyonce and her daughter Blue Ivy star in Mufasa: The Lion King, a prequel to 2019’s live action reimagining of the blockbuster Disney animated movie The Lion King
The live action, photo-realistically animated remake of The Lion King that was released in 2019 is now considered the highest grossing animated movie of all time, so it comes as no surprise that Disney has made a follow-up, and this one not only features the return of Beyonce as the voice of lion Nala, but also has her and Jay-Z’s daughter Blue Ivy providing the vocals for Princess Kiara, the daughter of Simba and Nala.
Told in flashbacks, the story introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka, the heir to a royal bloodline. The chance meeting sets in motion an expansive journey of an extraordinary group of misfits searching for their destiny and their bonds are tested as they work together to evade a threatening and deadly foe.
