Celtic fans spotted an unseen moment during Saturday’s Scottish Cup semi final win over Aberdeen as Brendan Rodgers BERATED club kitman Stevie Wright.
Footage has been shared on social media of the raging Irishman ordering Wright away as he attempted to give advice to Portuguese midfielder Paulo Bernardo with the Hoops preparing for the second half of extra time in their match at Hampden. The clip from BBC’s live coverage of the game shows Rodgers going round his players at half-time in extra time, trying to gee them up for one last push in the final 15 minutes. With players feeling the effects of an energy-sapping tie, Matt O’Riley was getting a leg rub and Rodgers was gathering his players in a huddle.
And in the corner of the picture Wright could be spotted going towards on-loan Benfica man Bernardo but Rodgers broke from the huddle and marched over and shouted, pointing in the kitman’s direction and ordering him away. Supporters picked up on the incident with one saying: “Brendan going mental at the kitman!” Another added: “It looks like the kitman took it upon himself to give Bernardo instructions while he was giving the team a pep talk so he’s quite right.” One said: “Great to see the fire in Brendan’s belly.”
