Are you ready for 'The Last Duel'?
, a big-screen reimagining of Eric Jager’s nonfiction work about the last recorded trial by combat in 14th-century France. The Westeros-worthy plot: Jean de Carrouges , a well-respected French knight, challenges Jacques Le Gris to a fight to the death after Carrouges’s wife Marguerite claims that Le Gris assaulted her – even though the charismatic Norman squire vehemently denies the rape ever happened.
Ben Affleck will also feature as Pierre d’Alençon, the count who’s tasked with negotiating between Carrouges and Le Gris – because there’s no way he would let anyone else be Damon’s right-hand man. Notably, Affleck and Damon worked together on the script withscreenwriter Nicole Holofcener.
