Ms Burney will address the National Press Club on the policy priorities on Wednesday afternoon in more depth in an attempt to provide transparency in how a Voice will benefit Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Australia.

She will also answer three questions on the Voice – why is it needed, how will it work and why does it need to be enshrined in the Constitution. According to an advance-copy of Ms Burney’s speech, she will ask for and encourage fresh ideas from the Voice.
