Polls have closed across the Northern Territory as the voters decide whether to return Labor to a third term or if the Country Liberal Party will storm to government for the first time in almost a decade.

While both parties have unveiled key policies on cost of living, housing and industry, crime and law enforcement has dominated debate throughout the election campaign. The territory has been plagued with crime in recent years despite a dip during the COVID-19 pandemic, with assault up 17.74 per cent and DV-related assault up 21.45 per cent since 2022.
