Joe Biden's campaign released its first ad targeting Donald Trump and his felony convictions over the weekend, as part of a new $50 million nationwide ad blitz.The video, called 'Character Matters,' goes straight for the former president and his 34 felonies in his New York hush money trial.'This election is between a convicted criminal, who's only out for himself, and a President who's fighting for your family,' the narrated 30-second spot says.
The campaign shift comes nearly a week after Biden's son Hunter Biden was convicted in his federal gun ownership trial, in which he was found guilty of lying on documents about his drug use when purchasing a firearm in 2018.Trump, meanwhile, announced his latest campaign effort – 'Black Americans for Trump' – on Saturday.The announcement came with endorsements from elected officials, entertainers and athletes, his campaign said in a press release.
