The next opportunity to see a total solar eclipse in North Texas won't come for another 300 or so years.DALLAS — The last time North Texas was in the direct path of a total solar eclipse was 1878. The next time it happens won't be until 2317.to put on one of the biggest eclipse watch parties across the region, WFAA will also be presenting a special"Solar Eclipse Experience" broadcast throughout the day on Monday, covering the spectacle from all angles., starts at 7 a.m.
From noon until 2 p.m. -- starting before the partial eclipse even begins in Dallas at 12:20 p.m. -- anchored eclipse coverage will air live on WFAA's digital platforms from the Perot Museum. This presentation will feature a roster of WFAA anchors and reporters presenting from the aforementioned watch party alongsideThis coverage will also include live looks from field reporters checking in from various other viewing spots across the region.
From 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., WFAA's main over-the-air broadcast television station will air ABC's special"Eclipse Across America" presentation -- although, from 1:30 p.m. until 2 p.m., our broadcast signal will take the same feed already in progress on WFAA's digital platforms over the air to provide North Texas audiences with local perspective on the totality as it looms over Dallas from 1:40 p.m. to 1:44 p.m.
WFAA's digital coverage of the event will extend until 4 p.m. -- well past the partial eclipse's completion in Dallas at 3 p.m.
