THE Philippine government has accused a China Coast Guard vessel of firing a water cannon at a Philippine boat on a resupply mission to Ayungin Shoal on Friday morning.In a statement, the National Task Force for the West Philippine Sea said CCG and Chinese Maritime Militia vessels 'recklessly harassed, blocked, executed dangerous maneuvers in another attempt to illegally impede or obstruct' the motor launch Kalayaan.
China's 'illegal and irresponsible actions put into question and significant doubt the sincerity of its calls for peaceful dialogue,' it said.In a statement issued shortly after the incident was reported, the CCG said it 'lawfully' monitored the Philippine vessels and implemented 'control measures.
