Waterloo Road star Angela Griffin reveals future of knife crime story

"I don't think Kim is open with the students over how conflicted she feels, as she has to remain clear with her viewpoint, but privately she feels very upset and hugely conflicted."

Angela continued:"Val's position is where Kim used to stand, as that used to be her viewpoint. She used to be the one who would say: 'No, come and stay with me, I'm going to help you'. She just can't do that anymore. "I don't think Kim is a natural headteacher. It's not her natural position to be in. It's not personal enough for her and she has to put distance between her and the pupils. So her and Val find themselves at loggerheads over Danny."

Angela also spoke about Kim's position in charge of the school, after she nearly lost the role of headteacher in the last series.
