Watford are hoping to conclude a deal for striker Mileta Rajovic with Swedish club Kalmar in the next 24-48 hours.The 24-year-old has been earmarked as the number one target in the club’s search for a new striker. It’s expected if talks progress positively that Rajovic, who has joint Danish and Montenegrin citizenship, will join on a permanent deal and sign a long-term contract at the Championship club.Rajovic - who is 6’4” - has scored seven goals for Kalmar in 20 league games this season. Watford are looking for competition for Vakoun Bayo.Sory Kaba (who joined Las Palmas from FC Midtjylland) and Shamar Nicholson (Spartak Moscow) have been considered and talks have been held.It’s understood that Valerien Ismael has played an active role in recruitment during this transfer window and Rajovic fits the profile of player that he is looking for.If the deal is completed Rajovic would be able to play having come from a competitive ongoing season.
Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann knew the question would be coming, given his own previous hostile reception at the Estadio Metropolitano, and he had a blunt and honest answer ready.
Griezmann was speaking on a Zoom call facilitated by La Liga a few days after Joao Felix had been whistled by Atletico fans. Griezmann knew what this was like, as his awkward transfer to Barcelona in 2019 meant that on his return two years later, he had to work very hard to win back the love of the fanbase.
